LOCAL CONTEST: CALIFORNIA NORTHERN
The United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the Northern California Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will conduct preliminary judging for the district-level competition. Finalists in both the essay and the video competitions at the district level will each receive prizes of $2,000 for 1st place, $1,500 for 2nd place and $1,000 for 3rd place and advance to compete in the circuit-wide contest. To be eligible to compete in the local contest, students must reside in one of these counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, or Sonoma.
